The Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) has launched a nine-month, household hazardous waste (HHW) collection pilot program. On each Friday through the end of November, residents can drop off their HHW at a collection station in the town of Cheswold from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Delaware considers HHW to include household cleaners, pesticides, oil-based paints, fluorescent light bulbs and nail polish. The pilot program will not accept prescription medication of sharps. Only Delaware residents can take advantage of the program.
