Waste Industries Reports Revenue And Net Income Increases In Second Quarter

Raleigh, N.C. — Waste Industries USA Inc., Raleigh, N.C., has reported that its second-quarter 2004 revenue increased just more than 13 percent when compared with the same period in 2003. The firm also has reported that its second-quarter 2004 net income increased 12.5 percent when over second-quarter 2003.

During the second quarter of this year, the company collected $74.4 million in revenue, compared with $65.8 million in second-quarter 2003. Net income for second-quarter 2004 was $3.1 million, or $.22 per diluted share, an increase from $2.7 million, or $.20 per diluted share in second-quarter 2003.

For the first six months of 2004, the company collected $143.6 million in revenue, an increase of 11.6 percent when compared with the same period in 2003. The company’s net income for the first half of 2004 was $5.9 million, or $.43 per diluted share, a rise of 19.9 percent from the first half of 2003.
