Veolia ES Announces Landfill GTE Project

Veolia Environmental Services (ES), Lombard, Ill., has agreed to develop a landfill gas-to-energy project at a its Blackfoot Landfill in Winslow, Indiana. The 3.2-megawatt facility, which will be designed, built, owned and operated by Energy Systems Group (ESG), Newburgh, Ind., is the tenth such project for Veolia ES in North America.

“We are proud to play a role in decreasing greenhouse gas emissions into the environment,” said Richard Burke, president and CEO of Veolia ES, in a press release. “This project is just one example of our commitment to finding innovative ways to turn waste into a resource.”
