Senate Committee Endorses Johnson For EPA Administrator

Washington — The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has approved the nomination of Stephen Johnson as administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. According to the Associated Press (AP), the committee voted 17 to 1 to send the nomination to the full Senate for a vote.

However, the AP reports, Sen. Thomas Carper, D-Del., the lone opposing vote on the committee, is considering blocking a full Senate vote on Johnson by “using the power all senators have to hold up the confirmation of a nominee.”
