PepsiCo, Purchase, N.Y., has announced an agreement with the Carbon Trust, a United Kingdom-based, government-backed organization to address climate change, to certify the carbon footprint Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice’s 64-ounce container. According to PepsiCo, Tropicana’s certification represents the first of many PepsiCo brands, under the agreement, to have its carbon footprint measured and certified.
“PepsiCo's partnership with the Carbon Trust is a significant step in our environmental sustainability journey,” said Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, in a press release. “As part of our company-wide Performance with Purpose initiative, we are committed to reducing our overall environmental impact. Understanding what contributes to the carbon footprint of our products is critical to achieving both our sustainability commitments and to driving efficiency gains across our global business."
