Pennsylvania Awards Recycling Performance Grants

Harrisburg, Pa. — Pennsylvania Environmental Protection Secretary Kathleen McGinty has announced that the state has awarded $2.1 million in performance grants to 34 communities for their recycling efforts in 2002.

"These grants reward communities for being a contributor to Pennsylvania’s recycling success story," McGinty says. "I encourage local officials to use this money to support even strong municipal recycling programs, which play an essential role in environmental protection and economic growth across the state."
