N.Y. Creates College Recycling Council

The New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse and Recycling (NYSAR3) has introduced a program that will facilitate on-campus recycling efforts for state colleges and universities. The NYSAR3 College Council, which is a membership organization designed to provide a forum for students, faculty and staff to share information about environmental problems and solutions, gives colleges and universities access to the expertise of environmental professionals.

“I think the colleges will be able to benefit from our public and private sector members, and as importantly, I think our regular membership will be able to learn a lot from the really exciting and innovative programs that are being implemented on some of our New York campuses,” said John Halenar, state coordinator of the council, in a press release.
