Converge, Peabody, Mass., has announced that its recent computer recycling event recycled more than 34 tons of electronic waste from community residents. As a result the event, which was held at the ompany’s headquarters on Oct. 13, diverted more than 2 tons of lead and other hazardous chemicals from local landfills. The event was sponsored by the company’s NextPhase division.
“Secure and environmentally friendly destruction of IT assets for business is not optional, it’s necessary,” said Chris Adam, director of NextPhase, in a press release. Converge is a distributor of electronic components and supply chain services.
