Columbus, Ohio, Approves Plans For Paper Recycling Plant

Columbus, Ohio — The Columbus City Council has approved an agreement to establish a paper recycling operation at the closed Waste To Energy Facility (WTEF), which was used for 13 years by the city and the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) and was shut down in 1994. Under the terms of the agreement, The Grossman Group, Columbus, Ohio, will move into the facility. As part of its lease, the company will install conveyors, pickers and a baler to separate the recoverable paper from the other trash, and SWACO will then haul the trash away. As part of its lease, The Grossman Group will pay a fee to SWACO, which leases the facility from the city. The fee will then be given to Columbus.
