N.Z. City Council Apologizes for Letting Residents Think Plastics Bags Were Recycled

A city council in Wellington, New Zealand, has apologized to city residents for letting them believe the city had been recycling plastic bags.

"This was due to the fact that plastic bags were previously stockpiled as our contractor searched, unsuccessfully, for a viable market to dispose of them cost effectively," the statement said.
