Florida Recycling Worker Crushed to Death

Tragic news out of Florida: a recycling worker sorting cardboard was crushed to death after he got caught up inside a bailing machine. 

The incident happened in Winter Garden, Fla., at a facility operated by Robert Wallick Associates Inc. The name of victim has not yet been released.

One report said he was trying to repair machine when he got stuck. Other reports say he was sorting cardboard at the time.

According to WFTV.com:

Authorities said his body was recovered from inside one of the giant cardboard bales.

"Basically you have an employee that's responsible for several different areas of this machine. Those responsible for loading, clearing, machine functioning. One of the employees basically went unseen for a little bit that's when they started looking into it and realized that the door to the machine was open," said Lt. Scott Allen of the Winter Garden Police Department.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
