City of Austin Wants to Expand Recycling, Composting Programs

The City of Austin is considering expanding its curbside recycling and compost program for fiscal year 2017, but it will cost you.

Austin Resource and Recovery is asking residents to give their input on whether or not they want once-a-week recycling pick-up as well as expanding the compost collection–currently 14,000 homes are part of the pilot program. To make these two items happen, the city says your overall bill will have to increase.
