Columbus, Ohio, Expands Recycling Program

Article-Columbus, Ohio, Expands Recycling Program

The city of Columbus, Ohio, is expanding its recycling program to include condominiums and apartment complexes.

The city’s Department of Public Service said in a news release it will expand the RecyColumbus program to eligible condos and apartments, along with rowhouses and townhomes along city streets, beginning March 3, 2014. The properties must have enough room to store the 64-gallon recycling carts between biweekly recycling collections to be eligible.

Also beginning March 3, Columbus will begin collecting yard waste and recycling on the same day rather than on alternating weeks. The city hopes the change will make the bi-weekly collections of recycling and yard waste more efficient and make it easier for residents to keep track of their collection day.
