The Vanishing Of Recycling Centers Affects the Homeless in San Francisco

MSN has a look at short video looking at how homeless residents in San Francisco rely on money earned from trading cans for cash, however this means of income is being threatened as hundreds of recycling centers are closing down. The state of California has a 30 year old container deposit program, allowing people to redeem aluminum cans, plastic containers, and glass bottles for cash up to 5 or 10 cents apiece.
