Facing changes with upcoming regulations, a group of locally-owned haulers in the Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino areas have sold to a larger company.

Fontana-based Burrtec Waste Industries is equipped to handle organics and green waste mandated by California law to begin Jan. 1, 2022.

Company owner Cole Burr said the new acquisitions will not lead to layoffs or route changes.
