  • Veolia Environmental Services, Milwaukee, Wis., announced the acquisition of Otis & Sons Trash Disposal, Boonville, Mo.

  • Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Cincinnati, received the Bronze SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) Excellence in Solid Waste Management Award.

  • The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio, (SWACO), announced a partnership with Shelly Co., Thornville, Ohio, that will enable the construction of an industrial park and expand Shelly's mining opportunities.

  • Granger, Lansing, Mich., announced a partnership with the Lansing Board of Water & Light to provide the area with renewable energy from its Wood Road Generating Station, which is a landfill gas-to-energy facility.

  • Veolia Environmental Services, Milwaukee, Wis., announced the purchase of assets from Allied Waste, Phoenix, that include six hauling companies, five landfills and two transfer stations.

  • The National Solid Waste Management Association (NSWMA), Washington, announced it has sold more than 1,000 copies of its “Be Safe Be Proud” videos, which aim to help companies reduce workplace injuries.

  • Waste Management, Houston, announced it has partnered with Sony for an e-waste recycling program, the Sony Take Back Recycling Program.
