  • Philadelphia-based PTR Baler and Compactor Co. has launched a new Web site (www.ptrco.com). The site allows customers to view product offerings, research equipment specifications and order replacement parts.

  • Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar has formed Cat Environmental Technologies, a group within the company that will develop and manufacture aftertreatment technologies for the firm's truck engines.

  • Columbia, Mo., has contracted with Cambridge, Mass.-based CDM to design the remaining three cells of the city's 107-acre landfill for bioreactor operation. The bioreactor is expected to begin operation in 2008.

  • The Baltimore-based Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) has awarded Houston-based Waste Management (WM) International Habitat Conservation Awards for the firm's wildlife habitat conservation efforts at seven of its landfills.

Stephen Ursery is the editor of Waste Age magazine. During his time as editor, Waste Age has won more than 20 national and regional awards. He has worked for Penton Media since August 1999. Before joining Waste Age as the magazine's managing editor, he was an associate editor for American City & County and for National Real Estate Investor.

Prior to joining Penton, Stephen worked as a reporter for The Marietta Daily Journal and The Fulton County Daily Report, both of which are located in metro Atlanta.

Stephen earned a BA in History from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
