Removing bulky trash takes muscle, and two friends in Washington, D.C., are capitalizing on that fact. Omar Soleman and Nick Friedman (pictured at left) are making their company — College Hunks Hauling Junk — an attractive option for residents by hiring hardworking, clean-cut college students to remove unwanted items. The business partners funded Hunks, which began as a way to earn money during college, with savings and a $10,000 entrepreneurial award.
The growing roster of 25 employees includes undergrads, athletes, and law and med students. Remembering their not-too-distant past, Soleman and Friedman donate part of the company's revenues to a local college scholarship fund. They plan to franchise nationally in the next six to nine months.
