Chicago White Sox fans had been waiting since 1917 to celebrate a World Series baseball championship, so when their beloved heroes finally brought home the championship trophy this fall, it was time to party. And, that meant some serious work for the city's Streets and Sanitation Department.
To clean up the remnants of the ticker-tape parade held in the team's honor, the city used 11 street sweepers, two trackless sidewalk sweepers, five refuse trucks, five semi-dump trucks, six bucket trucks and 10 high lifts, among other pieces of equipment.
