  • Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Heil Environmental has promoted Kevin Coombes to key accounts manager. Coombes joined Heil in 1980 in the cost accounting department and since has held positions in customer service, sales and marketing. He most recently served as sales operation manager.

  • John Zillmer, chairman and CEO of Allied Waste Industries, has been unanimously elected to the Alexandria, Va.-based Environmental Research Foundation's Board of Directors. He will serve a three-year term.

  • Cleveland, Ohio-based Wastequip Inc. has appointed Greg Guard as president of the West Coast Group, effective Jan. 1, 2007. He will be responsible for the sales and marketing, finance, manufacturing and customer service operations of the western facilities. Guard currently serves as vice president of sales and marketing for the Western Group of Waste Management.

  • Robert Elridge has been named director of marketing for Hebron, Ohio-based Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems. He will be responsible for the truck and trailer OEM market segments, customer service, marketing, advertising, trade shows, pricing, budgets and strategic business planning.

  • Rogers, Minn.-based Veit has hired Lisa Lindquist as an estimator/project manager. Her earthwork group provides landfill construction and closure.

  • The Environmental Industry Association's Women's Council has announced its new board members for 2007: Chair - Mary Margaret Cowhey; Vice-Chair - Melissa Gauger; Treasurer - Christine Loch; Education - Danielle Forget; Membership - Kathy Trent; Fundraising - Madeleine Szots; Community Relations - Nancy Bretas; Member-at-Large - Holly Waters; and Immediate Past Chair - Xenya Mucha. The council also announced a new scholarship program for undergraduates.
