Oddly Enough

Rebekah A. Hall

Every once in a while, haulers will be asked to help recover an item inadvertently thrown into the trash. In Wales, England, a local council has compiled a list of the most unusual items collected by its garbage workers — and you'd be surprised to hear what refuse collectors consider the most shocking item. Artifacts that topped the list include: a set of wedding rings; a woman's jewelry set; a new PlayStation console and games; a purse full of money; dead sheep; false teeth; a wooden leg; and a photo album of pictures from birth to old age.

But the item that sent workers into a tizzy was a gun that was later found to have had its working parts removed. Apparently, it was the first time anyone had spotted a weapon in the refuse.
