• Dover Corp. formed the Environmental Solutions Group, which combines three industry-leading companies within Dover's business portfolio — Heil Environmental, Marathon Equipment Company and Bayne Machine Works — to create what it says is the world's largest fully integrated equipment manufacturer serving the solid waste management industry. Pat Carroll will serve as president of the new organization.

  • Cummins Inc. announced a multiyear extension of its current agreement with Chrysler Group LLC.

  • The City of St. Louis signed a three-year contract with St. Louis Composting Inc. to manage and operate the city's 10-acre composting facility. St. Louis Composting plans to make substantial improvements to the site, including adding a retail outlet and food waste recycling capabilities.

  • Two Arizona landfills owned by Republic Services have agreed to pay fines totaling $58,000 as part of a consent judgment for regulatory violations, says the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. La Paz County Landfill will pay $47,000 for soil contaminated by petroleum and for using hot lead slag as landfill cover. Copper Mountain Landfill will pay $11,000 for spreading contaminated soil over a landfill slope.
