NWRA Files Comments with NLRB on Proposed Standard for Determining Joint-Employer Status

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) filed comments with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in response to the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to establish a new standard to determine joint-employer status. In its comments, NWRA called on the NLRB to keep the current rule in place.

“The waste and recycling industry believes that a clear, consistent standard is needed to guide businesses in confidently deciding whether to enter into arrangements intended to constitute contractor relationships and to keep such individuals safe while working at their locations,” said NWRA President & CEO Darrell Smith. “We urge the NLRB to abandon this rulemaking and keep the current rule in place.”

NWRA has been actively engaged with the NLRB and Congress on this issue.
