Minneapolis City Council Members Cam Gordon and Abdi Warsame on Friday morning announced a plan in the works to ban plastic bags with handles at all stores in the city.
"I think it will be an adjustment for folks," Gordon said. “I think the biggest reason is the environmental implications of all the plastic all around."
There are exceptions to the plastic bag ban proposal, including ones that don’t have handles used to carry produce and meats. It also includes dry-cleaner, newspaper, door-hanger and garbage bags; pet waste bags also would not be outlawed.
