The Ontario County Landfill in the town of Seneca will face a fine by the Department of Environmental Conservation. The fine will cost the landfill's owners $500,000 and, once paid, will be split between the state and the city of Geneva. About $30,000 will be set aside pending full compliance with the terms of the consent order. The fine is given to Casella Waste Services and will cover a total of seven violations.
