Residents of Stark County Express Skepticism of Landfill Injection Well Proposal

At a recent Ohio Environmental Protection Agency public hearing in Stark County, residents spoke with unease about a landfill's proposed permit to build an 8,000-foot injection well. The landfill seeking the permit, Waste Management American Landfill, plans to begin constructing the well in 2024 if the permit is approved. Residents expressed concerns about the potential of the injection well contaminating their drinking water with leachate.
