Yeoman Creek Landfill, 42 miles North of Chicago was used throughout the '50s and '60s for dumping hazardous waste. Due to severe mismanagement, the landfill was met with mediation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and is just now nearing clean of methane and other toxic gasses. The site is unsuitable for many projects, making a solar panel farm one of the few options for the future of the property. This landfill joins a number of landfills across the nation in becoming solar panel farms and gaining the title of brightfield.
