New Ventilators Tossed in a Miami-Dade Landfill

A Miami-Dade resident took trash to the local landfill and was stunned to find pallets full of brand new, wrapped medical ventilators dumped among mattresses, tires and other waste. 

The package shows the ventilators are from Beijing Aerospace Changfeng Ltd. in Beijing, which sold for $26,000 during the height of the pandemic. However, these ventilators are not on a list of 86 ventilator models approved for emergency authorized use by the FDA. The FDA says that any medical device without approval may not be used, so the options are to either take it out of the country or take it to be destroyed.
