In 2022, residents of New Canaan, CT will have a new way to keep items of the waste stream. The city is planning to create a “swap shop.”

The volunteer-staffed facility will have both covered and outdoor areas where Transfer Station permit-holders could leave or pick up select items such as books, toys, stuffed animals, electronics, prints, sports equipment, vases, dishes, bicycles, chairs and other small furniture for free.

The goal of the ‘swap shop’ is to keep items out of the garbage and encourage residents to purchase a Transfer Station pass.
