Keystone Sanitary Landfill Expansion Approved

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has approved expansion plans for one of the largest landfills in the country: Keystone Landfill.

The application, which was submitted in 2014, allows Keystone to add 435 acres of land and increase disposal capacity by 145 million cubic yards.

The Department of Health completed an assessment that showed no risk to nearby residents.
