Honolulu’s Landfill Advisory Committee will begin discussions about where to put Oahu’s newest landfill. The Committee is made up of nine citizens with backgrounds in government, engineering and contracting and other fields. The Committee will submit the location options to the Department of Environmental Services and Mayor Rick Blangiardi, who will select a site by December 31, 2022.

The landfill at Waimanalo Gulch will close operations by March 2, 2028.
