Online shopping has numerous advantages, however, it has an equal amount of drawbacks.

One of these disadvantages that goes widely unknown is the amount of landfill waste produced by returns. When a person receives a product in the mail and is unsatisfied with it, they may opt to return it; from there, many manufacturers trash the products.

Research shows that in the United States 2.6 million tons of returned products were disposed of this way in the year 2020 alone.
