A new landfill is set to begin construction in Dodge, Nebraska now that a construction company has been selected for the site.
Recently, the Beatrice Area Solid Waste Agency Board in the state approved a bid from Pruss Excavating, which was the lone big for the job. The bid started at $6.4 million but was negotiated down to $6.2 million.
Pruss Excavating previously built part of the current landfill, which is running out of space. The work on the dirt of the area is estimated to be completed by October 2025. Although, the board is waiting on bids for construction of a building and scale for the new site.
