A group of Pheasant Point Landfill employees and two Nebraska business owners allegedly particpated in a weighing scheme that would benefit the participating parties.

Dump truck drivers and the Nebraska's landfill workers supposedly colluded in the activity which involved providing a flat, low rate during the weighing process in exchange for cash and gift cards. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office estimates losses upwards of $350,000, but the actual amount lost could be much more. 

The landfill is operated by Waste Management, who sent multiple employees home after discovering the illegal activity.
