Opposing sides made their closing statements in a hearing regarding the expansion of a landfill in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

A permit for the expansion was first issued in 2020. The Conservation Law Foundation is arguing that state regulators did not take the correct steps during the approval process and that adding to the landfill will provide no substantial public benefit.

New Hampshire’s Solid Waste Council will make a decision in 100 days.
