A March 5 tornado in Madison County, Iowa, left devastation and a mess in its path. The South Central Iowa Landfill in Winterset has been juggling where to relocate all of the storm debris, which also damaged the landfill.

The EF-4 tornado destroyed South Central's main office and made it difficult for workers to access areas and coordinate debris drop-offs. A tipping scale also was damaged in the storm. The landfill's phone has been out of service since the storm.

Volunteers have been working to provide lunches and assistance to employees.
