Residents of Tallapoosa County, Ala. have filed a lawsuit against Stone's Throw Landfill's operators and other defendants.

The allegations state that residents have been exposed to hazardous chemicals discharged from the landfill. The U.S. EPA previously closed a 14-year discrimination complaint via its Civil Rights Compliance office. It found "insufficient evidence" that any discrimination took place.
