Getty Images Burning Trash Causes 500-acre Fire in California’s Riverside County

A Colorado wildfire spread into a former landfill in Granby; burning about 11 acres. Now extinguished, the fire began nearby the landfill and spread due to dry and windy conditions.

Between 50 and 60 firefighters were called to the scene for assistance.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation. However, Fire Chief Michael O’Neill states the fire definitely traces back to human activity.
