Vanguard Renewables has announced the appointment of Michael O’Laughlin as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, bringing 20 years of experience from different sectors to the position.

Vanguard Renewables has announced the appointment of Michael O’Laughlin as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, bringing 20 years of experience from different sectors to the position.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mike to the Vanguard Renewables team,” said Doug Vaccari, Managing Director of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock, and Lead Director of Vanguard Renewables’ Board.

“His extensive experience leading global organizations and driving growth, coupled with his passion for sustainability, elegantly aligns with Vanguard’s growth strategy and our mission to create a more sustainable future.” 

Previously, O’Laughlin worked in clean energy, aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and industrial sectors. He served as President of Engineering Materials at Kymera International, leading global teams and driving innovation utilizing advanced materials and technologies.

O’Laughlin will take on the national expansion of Vanguard’s Farm Powered anaerobic digester platform, which converts organic waste from farms and businesses into RNG. Through previous experience and familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, O’Laughlin is positioned to maximize efficiency and improvement in the company’s operation.
