OSHA Honors PSC Environmental Facility
May 18, 2010
PSC Environmental Services’ hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facility in Tacoma, Wash., has received recognition from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). The administration’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) deemed the facility a “Star Site.”
VPP “recognizes worksites with comprehensive safety and health management systems that incorporate strong management commitment and meaningful, active employee involvement,” according to a PSC press release. The Star designation is awarded to facilities that have injury and illness rates that are at or below the national average.
“Safety is our top priority at PSC and the VPP program takes our safety commitment to a new level,” said Gary Crueger, PSC’s regional vice president, Western Region, in a press release. “Earning VPP Star Site recognition is something that our Tacoma employees should be very proud of. It is proof they share PSC's commitment to worker and community safety.”
