Progressive Waste Solutions to Release Second-Quarter Report on July 26

Toronto-based Progressive Waste Solutions (formerly IESI-BFC) will release its second-quarter financial report on Tuesday, July 26, after the close of the stock market. The firm will hold a conference call to discuss the results with analysts on at 8:30 a.m. EST on Wednesday, July 27.

To listen to the call live, dial (888) 300-0053 or (647) 427-3420 (international or local) about 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. The call also will be webcast live on Progressive Waste’s website.

For the first quarter of this year, Progressive Waste Solutions reported a net income of $23.1 million on $422.9 million in revenue. During the same period in 2010, the firm posted a net income of $16.7 million on $264 million in revenue.

The company attributed the revenue growth in part to its July 2010 acquisition of Waste Services. “Our first-quarter results were in line with expectations, and we believe we are on track to achieve the outlook we provided for our 2011 financial performance,” said Carrigan in a statement that accompanied the first-quarter earnings release. “We overcame a number of headwinds in the quarter … We are pleased with these results, particularly given the challenges that we faced in the quarter due to harsher comparative weather conditions in certain parts of the United States and Canada.”

This has been a busy year so far for Progressive. In addition to changing its name from IESI-BFC in May, the firm also recently purchased SDT Waste and Debris in New Orleans.
