FedEx Ground Package System, Inc. has been ordered to pay $1.75 million as part of a settlement in a lawsuit that accused the company of illegally transporting and storing hazardous waste, along with other environmental violations.
Sixteen district attorney’s offices around California, including San Diego, filed the suit in Sacramento County Superior Court last year against the Pennsylvania-based company. Two of the 36 FedEx Ground facilities involved were in San Diego County.
Judge Raymond M. Cadei signed the judgment, which was agreed upon by the parties.
