Shuggie's Trash Pie Serves Customers Unexpected Ingredients

Cured pig trotters, bruised fruit, wilted greens, and leftover oat byproduct are among many food waste products being purchased and used as ingredients in San Francisco's new trendy restaurant called Shuggie's Trash Pie.

As the name suggests, the restaurant uses food that would otherwise go into the trash to make pizzas with a twist.

Opened and operated by Kayla Abe and David Murphy, the pizzeria is not the first of its kind, however, it is being touted as a trendsetter and example that cutting back on food waste is not as difficult as we might think.
