Food banks typically distribute boxes of ingredients, fruits, and vegetables for people in need to prepare in their own homes. But one kitchen in South Florida has sped up construction of its kitchen during the COVID-19 pandemic to do something it hadn’t before… cook.

This new kitchen responds to two huge problems affecting communities all over the nation: too much food, and too little. It aims to use the produce and meat from local farmers, who have lost their pipeline to restaurants and other big customers, to make meals for a high number of people suddenly facing hunger.
