Episode 27: How MGM Resorts Diverts Food Waste in Las Vegas

In 2019, 42 million visitors descended on the Las Vegas strip. That number plummeted to 19 million people in 2020 due to pandemic closures. Tourism now is rebounding despite ongoing health and safety concerns. As Las Vegas casinos and hotels return to normal visitor levels, waste volumes also are on the rise.

This week, Editorial Director Stefanie Valentic talks trash with Brittany Price, director of sustainable operations for MGM Resorts International. Price discusses the issue of food waste and waste diversion for the company's 13 Vegas properties.
