The La Crosse County Landfill is celebrating a new addition to its property.
The county held a ribbon cutting Monday for a new cell at the landfill in La Crosse.
The $1.5 million cell covers about 5 acres. It gives the county more space to collect more waste from residents.
It's one of three new cells which in total will add about 28 years to the landfill. Along with adding more space it allows the county to protect the environment while helping power buildings in the community.
