Illinois E-Waste Bill Headed to Governor's Desk

An electronics recycling bill that Will County officials helped craft unanimously passed the Illinois Senate last week and now goes to Gov. Bruce Rauner for him to sign.

House Bill 1455 addresses funding shortfalls that have jeopardized electronics recycling programs statewide as demand for recycling services grows.

Dean Olson, who heads Will County’s Resource Recovery and Energy Division, told members of the Will County Board on Thursday he and other county officials statewide spent the past several months lobbying Springfield for change.
