Kewaunee County, Wisc., Highway/Solid Waste Committee Votes Not to Expand Landfill

The Kewaunee County Highway/Solid Waste Committee voted on March 5 not to proceed with Phase III of the county landfill expansion.

The recommendation will now go to the County Board for review at its March 17 meeting.

The landfill already owes the county $1.8 million that it has borrowed from the county’s general fund, said Chairman Larry Kirchmann.
