Earlier this week, the Tupelo, Miss., City Council voted to extend the city’s residential garbage contract with Waste Management for two more years. Waste Management now has until February 15 to approve the city’s offer to extend its current contract, which ends this August.

Tupelo garbage bills will not go up for at least the next two years.
The Tupelo City Council on Tuesday extended its residential garbage contract with Waste Management through August 2019.
The current contract is set to end this August, two months after this summer’s municipal elections and in the middle of the yearly budgeting process.
