The Missouri City City Council authorized in September an agreement with WCA Waste Corporation to provide competitive rates for residential, commercial and recyclable materials collection service.
“The city has been trying for the last few years to get the city a single trash contract,” Mayor Allen Owen said. “We were successful in coming up with a contract for the entire city, which is good because the city does not want to get into the garbage business.”
Previously, every subdivision in Missouri City had its own solid waste contract, and they all carried different fees.
